Clinical monitoring - Clinical monitoring - Oversight and administrative efforts that monitor a participant's health during a clinical trial. The government and other clinical trial funding agencies require data and safety monitoring boards to oversee clinical trials.

Clinical endpoint - In a research trial, a clinical endpoint refers to a disease, symptom, or sign that constitutes one of the target outcomes of the trial. The results of a clinical trial generally indicate the number of people enrolled who reached the pre-determined clinical endpoint during the study interval, compared with the overall number of people who were enrolled.

Clinical Skills - To be certified by ECFMG, international medical graduates must, among other requirements, satisfy the clinical skills requirement. Step 2 Clinical Skills (Step 2 CS) of the United States Medical Licensing Examination™ (USMLE™) is the exam currently administered that satisfies the clinical skills requirement for ECFMG Certification.

Clinical trials with surprising outcomes - Medicine is an evolving field as new knowledge is acquired through discoveries in the laboratory and through clinical trials. With the acceptance of evidence-based medicine, some practices that were thought to be standard of care or represent best clinical practice have fallen out of favor as data from randomized clinical trials emerged.
